It occurred to me this morning that much of my life is right at a turning point, ripe with delicious anticipation.
Just around the corner from today:
•A large end-of-year celebration at work that will leave me exhausted but provide a time to catch my breath and prepare to move forward to the next big event.
•Another graduation party and time with old friends.
•The return of our boy, with all the noise, clutter, enthusiasm, and energy he brings in his wake.
•The first real vacation I’ve had in years (I do not count the many trips across country to move people to and from college), with my three very favorite people.
Just around the corner from our home:
•Our historic downtown area. Here our kids have worked and will continue to work for local businesses. Here they had their graduation photo shoots. Here we attended outdoor concerts from when they were in diapers. It’s a gathering place for our community, and a joy to behold.
•Friends and neighbors with whom I will have more time to connect in the lazy summer months.
May the next corner you turn bring you peace, beauty, and joy!
