As we all struggle for words to put to the grief of yesterday’s events, I’m once again reminded of how thankful I am to have blogging friends all over the world. It’s easy for those of us living half a world away, in the self-absorbed U.S., to separate ourselves from the immediacy of that pain.
But as I read posts from those of you who live only a short trip’s drive to Paris, that pain is brought home to me.
We are all connected.
What hurts those across the world from me, hurts me.
But I also believe that in some grand, inexplicable way, it is also true that acts of love, wherever they occur, can create a ripple of healing and peace throughout our common humanity.
May we all commit to acts of love and healing in the places we find ourselves day to day. In our families, our communities, our workplaces.
Truly, we are all connected.
