Easter Haiku

After weeks of warmth

And blooming trees and flowers,

An Easter surprise.

Beautiful but frigid backdrop to our 9:15 overflow service yesterday morning.

Leggings and long boots

Kept me warm under my new

Flouncy turquoise dress.

Also a white, long-sleeved, spandex tee. This photo is a serving suggestion, for climates a little less volatile than ours.

No baskets or eggs

Makes for a boring Easter.

Small children required.

Easter Monday off:

A perk for us church workers.

A day to re-charge.

Task for the day off?

Touch up paint in the kitchen.

Yeah, a real party.

Once a quiet house

Meant blessed relief; but now

It just feels empty.
